A triple flight of waterfalls, surrounded by woodland, carved out by the River Ure over an almost one-mile stretch. It’s only a short walk to the falls, but if you’re wanting something longer you can venture up to Castle Bolton too.

National Park Visitor Centre, Aysgarth, DL8 3TH

Aysgarth Falls

Starting in the historic village of Wensley this walk meanders up the side of the River Ure before taking you through the sprawling fields of the Bolton Estate, passing by Bolton Hall. This path occassionally floods if the river is very high.

Wensley River Loop

Meander through scenic farmland and sprawling woodland in this circular walk on the Swinton Estate which takes you past the unusual stone Druid’s Temple. We also recommend stopping by the cosy Bivouac café for a bite to eat at the end of your walk.

Druid’s Plantation

Take in the breath-taking views of Swaledale as you climb up the valley from Muker to Keld. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for the picturesque waterfalls at the halfway point in Keld and the evidence of old mining works on the far side of the valley as you wander back to Muker.

Swaledale Circular

This classic Dales walk starts off at the valley bottom in the quaint village of Reeth. After a fairly steep climb to the ridgeline, Fremington Edge is the perfect vantage point to take in the panoramic views of Lower Swaledale below.

Fremington Edge

Penhill is a prominent feature located in Wensleydale overlooking this picturesque valley and its traditional stone-built villages below. There’s a couple of starting points for this walk, either from the village of West Witton for the full climb, or from a small car park much closer to the summit.

Distance: 5.5 mile or 3.5 mile routes.
